Hi margo, this is very cool. I'll be checking in periodically. My blog is www.winn2old.blogspot.com if you want to see a lot of pics of my grandkids and other stuff. old dog to old dog...you did good. pw
This is the story of how a race horse jockey came into the service of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and my reflections of being in ministry. My ministry is Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center located in East Texas and the website address is windridgetexas.org.
I have worked in the horse industry my entire professional life as a jockey, trainer of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse race horses and owner/manager of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse breeding establishments. I am the founder and Executive Director/Head Instructor of Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center located in East Texas. I am a NARHA Certified Master Level Instructor, a NARHA Certified Driving Instructor – Level II, a NARHA Lead Faculty/Evaluator, NARHA Driving Apprentice Evaluator and a NARHA instructor mentor. I currently sit on Texas Tech’s Equine Advisory Board and NARHA's text book task force. I have written and produced equine educational and training materials including: “Standard of Behavior for the Horse and Horseman – Ground Schooling” in DVD and webcast formats with a workbook.
Most importantly, I am a raw vessel to be modled into a disciple of Jesus Christ.

The stain glassed logo for Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center of East Texas, Inc. was created by Brad and Stacy Spears and given to Windridge. Elaine Coullias is the graphic artist who designed our logo. It was in 1988 when I shared with Elaine the direction I believed God was calling me in. Understanding Windridge was a ministry to serve our Lord, Elaine offered to design the logo. Elaine asked me what I wanted the logo to look like. I replied, "Our work will evolve around the horse and there must be a person on the horse reaching upward." Elaine looked at me for a moment when I continued, "The person on the horse is reaching towards our Lord and that person must begin with me." With this thought Elaine created our logo. The rainbow represents God's promise in all things but I like to add; God promises to ordain what He commissions. The wings are eagle's wings as stated in Isaiah 40:31 "... but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Elaine's gift to us is timeless. Visit our website: www.windridgetexas.org
Standard of Behavior for the Horse and Horseman - Ground Schooling
Great artists attempt to capture the innate beauty and graceful movement of the horse, but it is the horseman who strives to communicate eloquently with them. Whatever the dreams you have for you and your horse, Windridge's "Standard of Behavior for the Horse and Horseman - Ground Schooling", takes you from where you are to where you want to be. A ninety minute equine training DVD written and produced by Margo is based on proven training techniques that will aid the professional and novice horseman in the training of their horse. Quote: "Windridge's training program results in a solid foundaiton of basic skills, ground manners, and trust that any professional horseperson would be envious of!" Celia Bower, PT, HPCS - Graduate "A" from the United States Pony Club - United States Pony Club Examiner & Clinician - Masters in Physical Therapy - Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist Quote: "In Ground Schooling, Margo and the Windridge staff clearly explain and demonstrate effective training techniques. I've used Margo's methods with the horses and volunteers I've been involved with for several years and have experienced a significant improvement in performance and success."
